I am looking forward to Christmas through my son's eyes. This is his first Christmas and the first time in years I have felt the holiday spirit, really, since my father passed away 10 years ago.

My dad alway made Christmas special, staying up late and wrapping presents so carefully, marking each one in a special "Santa handwriting" he developed.

Now, my husband is "Dad" and my son (although he won't understand "Santa") will be able to experience the wonder and awe of the lights and smells and, of course, wrapping paper--all the things I loved as a kid.

I am looking forward to having a kid old enough to understand who "Santa" is and be excited for him to bring presents.

I'm looking foward to outside ice skating, such a rare treat in So CA. We always go as a family, take in some lights, an dinner and a carriage ride. It's one of my favorite Christmas traditions.

My family and I are most looking forward to celebrating the birth of our Savior, spending quality time with family and friends, and counting our many blessings. We are going to strive to keep things pretty simple this year, and focus on having a lot of togetherness with those we don't see too often. Doing fun things like the farmer's market, Irvine Park, and other family oriented happenings is most definitely how we like to spend our holiday, so this sounds so wonderful. Thank you for the chance to win, and for your wonderful blog of helpful resources.

We love heading to Balboa Island (in Newport Beach) to watch the boat parade and check out all of the decorated houses. It's so fun to see my girls' reaction to the lights and decorations. It's one of those times where we stop and appreciate the blessed life we live, even though at times we get caught up in day-to-day stresses.

We live near Irvine Park so this giveaway is awesome!!

We are looking forward to the Christmas train becaue my husband has to work on Christmas Day most years as a firefighter and he misses some of the memories, but this will be something my son will talk about throughout the holidays. My son is 3 yrs old and loves trains and when I showed him the advertisement for the Christmas Train and ask if dad and I will take him to see Santa arrive on the trqin. My husband was so excited and my son to Irvine Regional Park this weekend showing him the train tracks and told him we will come back to see Santa arrive. My son has not stopped telling people he is going to the train station to see Santa soon. This will be so special for all of us..

Our family is most looking forward to the celebrating the birth of our Savior and spending time together. We are also looking foward to keeping our own Christmas simple and instead shopping for a family that has been hit hard by these hard, hard times. My husband and I still have our jobs, kids are healthy and we don't "need" a thing.
Thankful to have kids that came up with the idea while I was worrying about what to get them!

I miss Christmas in Cali. My east coast friends think I am nuts. But we imprint our childhoods, no? It isn't a Christmas tree lot for me unless they have bubble gum pink and blue flocked trees. Mind you we never got one of those.

Don't enter me in the contest. I'm far from Irvine. But I left my heart in Cali. Have a wonderful Christmas and don't forget the tumbleweed snowmen.
