It's that time again... Museums on us Free Weekend admission and Target Free at La Habra Children's and Bowers Kidseum

I will post this little blurb at the beginning of every month to remind everyone about Museums on us. Museums on us is a fantastic program that rewards Bank of America cardholders. Any card from Bank of America gives you free admission to over 70 museums nationwide. Museums on us offers free admission to select museums on the first weekend of every month - and that means this post comes just in time for this weekend. Free Family Arts Festival @ La Habra Children's Museum and winner of DVD giveaway.

Happy Monday!! I know it's only Monday and the weekend is still a couple of days away. However, I wanted to make sure you mark this date on your calendars. On Sunday May17th the La Habra Children's Museum will host it's annual Family Arts Festival. This year the museum is focusing on it's Ring of Fire exhibit which is fantastic!! This was definitely the highlight of our last trip to La Habra. There will be crafts and cultural performances about the Ring of Fire region. The festival will also feature carnival games, storytelling and face painting. It will be a fun day for all and of course if I'm writing about it you probably already figured out that it's Free!! Target Free Saturday at the La Habra Children's Museum

I live for the weekends. I love hanging out with my family and being able to run around town visiting fun places. I start planning ahead early in the week. If you are like me then mark your calendar because one of my favorite places- The La Habra Children's museum is offering free admission thanks to Target. If you haven't been able to make a visit this would be a perfect opportunity. Your kiddos and wallet will thank you.

La Habra Children's Museum Revisited

The museum is located in the City of La Habra. It's a couple of blocks north of Imperial Ave on Euclid Ave. It's located on the grounds of Portola Park. The museum is small but it will keep your children entertained for a couple of hours at least.

My daughter's favorite thing to do there is play in the mini market. They have a little mart set up with a register, shopping baskets, carts and plastic produce. They have a carousel that runs every half hour for children under 6 and in the same room a real OCTA bus that the kids can horse around in. There is a stage/dress up area that is a big hit with the preschoolers and also a preschool play room which contains a tree house, kitchen , dolls, toy area and a storytelling corner with many books. There is also a real caboose that you can board and explore.

I have made a day trip out of this by bringing a picnic lunch and letting the kids loose on the park's playground. I love this place and hope you enjoy it too. La Habra Children's Museum301 South Euclid Street, La Habra, CA 90631

Admission is $6 per person while 2 and under are free. It's closed Mondays and open from 10 am to 4 pm Tue-Fri, Sat from 10-5 pm and Sundays from 1-5 pm. Closed all major holidays.
